Things that could be done
[edit]There are a couple of things that could be done to tweek up this page.
- Consider about listing names of soldiers of the regiment that had been awarded with gallantry awards.
- If possible (but most likely impossible), to list out all the operations that the regiment had been involved in.
- Why don't someone do a something on Battle of Sungai Semur? You can get the story from any form 1 students' textbook list, which is also the official version. Somehow, the version lacked a bit of depth as it only tell the fight which involved the regiment clearly while details on the attack on the reinforcements by police were done half cook. Also, it includes much of non-Sg Semur incident.
- We can also add Sgt Aznan's name in. This was not done yet.
some extra informal material
[edit]This is some extra informal material that may be of use, but I'm not listing sources or putting it into the article.
The military garrison of the Malay States was mostly Indian Army units. As a result of the mutiny of an Indian unit during the first world war, it was politically difficult to have Indian units in Malaya. Gurkhas were acceptable, but not regular Indian units. It was eventually decided to garrison Malaya with battalions of the Burma Rifles. The battalions served in rotation in the 1920s and 1930s. Its likely that part of the reason that the Malay Regiment was raised was the intention (and conequences of) to separate Burma from India. After seperation, the burma Rifles would no longer be available and the various alternatives were not considered attractive in the long term. 12.96.162.45 22:27, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
[edit]Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Missing Unit?
[edit]Um, I'm looking at the 10th Parachute Brigade page and I see a 9th Battalion, Royal Malay Regiment. Can anyone confirm if that is independent or not and if that info is still accurate? Faith15 14:02, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
