RHKAAF operated the Bristol Bulldog?

[edit]

According to this article, the RHKAAF was created in 1949. According to the article on the Bristol Bulldog, it was a Royal Air Force (RAF) single-seat biplane fighter designed in the 1920s. Are we dealing with the same aircraft here?. No references to check, so adding citation needed. -- Chris j wood 13:03, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, found the reference. It was a SAL Bulldog, whatever that is, not a Bristol Bulldog. Obviously from the dates, a completely different aircraft. -- Chris j wood 13:43, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually VR-H was the ICAO aircraft registration prefix for civil aircraft registered in the British Colony of Hong Kong, whilst B-H is the equivalent prefix for civil aircraft registered in the Chinese SAR of Hong Kong. But military aircraft do not carry ICAO registrations, so it is unlikely these aircraft carried either VR-H or B-H marking whilst flying for the RHKAAF. They probably received the VR-H markings when they moved to the GFS in 1993, and the B-H markings when the colony became the SAR in 1997. -- Chris j wood 13:17, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
