Members of the Regiment
[edit]Sergeant is not an officer rank, so perhaps this guy shouldn't be a notable officer?
- Hi, just to let you know I have changed the wording of 'officer' to 'member' so as to keep the sergeant's presence in the article as he is notable. Hope this is ok.Gibmetal77 00:57, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Flagicons
[edit]If the flagicons are seen as unnecessary, fair enough, but shouldn't it still say Gibraltar infront of United Kingdom in the infobox? Gibmetal 77 15:17, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with you; I have put simply Gibraltar and UK in brackets afterwards. Chris Buttigieg 20:23, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- The fact is that the regiment is part of the British Army, and as such, is a regiment of the United Kingdom, unlike the Bermuda Regiment. Besides which, Gibraltar (UK) looks like Gibraltar is part of the United Kingdom. Hammersfan 26/05/07, 20.52 BST
What is meant by the claim that the "Royal Gibraltar Regiment is still to sign up to the Armed Forces Act 2011 to bring it in line with British Armed Forces". The RGR does not have to "sign up" to legislation, it is automatically bound by it, surely. Royalcourtier (talk) 05:04, 14 February 2015 (UTC)
- On a side note, Royal Gibraltar Regiment is abbreviated to RG, not RGR. We got that bollocking when we went out there last year for training from them.82.46.237.29 (talk) 22:04, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
Armed Forces Act
[edit]What does "The Royal Gibraltar Regiment is still to sign up to the Armed Forces Act 2011 to bring it in line with British Armed Forces" mean? The GR does not "sign up" to legislation.122.59.83.216 (talk) 23:15, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
Size?
[edit]Whilst it is described as a 'battalion', it's not clear if it is actually up to that size or what. Given its idiosyncratic status, the size is not assured by the battalion definition. Ender's Shadow Snr (talk) 21:46, 8 May 2016 (UTC)
Honorary Regimental Colonels
[edit]Col Francis Brancato managed to go back in time and end his membership in 202 CE? --2003:C4:DF02:9A22:1442:F76C:1DFE:3062 (talk) 19:07, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
