[edit]In the Louis Theroux documentary "when louis met jimmy", Jimmy Savile claims to have founded the Royal College of Radiology. Is this true? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.243.2.232 (talk • contribs) 23:10, 21 June 2007
List of Fellows
[edit]Currently this list is rather short, and the criteria for listing are not clear. At the moment it fails in several respects, but mainly as a comprehensive list of distinguished (?definition) fellows and ex-fellows, either by exam or honorary election.
Whilst all of the entries are interesting, some are a bit gushing, and would not pass muster in other similar pages in Wikipedia.
Proposal: Delete the whole section and replace with the following:
Almost all consultant radiologists and clinical oncologists practising in the UK are Fellows of the Royal College of Radiologists through a competitive series of exams taken during higher specialist training. There are also a small number of Honorary Fellows.

- since there have been no objections in the 6 months or so since the above proposal, I have changed the section accordingly. Jellytussle (talk) 16:18, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
I have rv'd changes made by 82.32.50.165. Some discussion would be useful, since the only clear addition by 82.32.50.165 is the addition of Sanjay Gandhi to the list of Fellows of the RCR. Sanjay was an Indian politician who died over 30 years ago. He was not a radiologist, and there is no reference to confirm whether he was an hon FRCR. Can I suggest that if there really is a will to make a list of FRCRs then it is done on a new page titled accordingly?Jellytussle (talk) 12:09, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
This page needs a refresh and a re-write
[edit]The RCR page is neglected and inadequate. The function, structure, and scope of the college is unclear as written. The Fellowship is not properly described, the FRCR exam describes only the radiology exam and does not mention the clinical oncology exam. There is no mention of Fellowship without exam, college medals, overseas exams or fellows. The list of fellows is short and has no obvious consistency or rationale. etc, etc.
I will start to rewrite the page. Grateful for any comments or suggestions. In the absence of any other recent contributions I am assuming this is OK. Some critical conversation will be helpful. Jellytussle (talk) 07:54, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
