The area of the Round Pond used to be a kite flying mecca during the 1970s and 1980s. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.155.27.146 (talk) 11:05, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The key characteristic of this kite flying 'community' was that it was entirely adults and all male. Many were middle aged and elderly and they usually flew high - over a thousand feet typically. Chinese dragon kites in winter and delta kites in summer were two of the favourite designs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Flashpark (talkcontribs) 12:38, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Shape

[edit]

ProfDEH left the following in an edit summary today: "Shape - still looking for the exact right description, or a diagram". I suggest perhaps using an extract from Open Street Map. I likely wont have time to produce one for a few days, but they are usable under a free license. Thryduulf (talk) 10:12, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Funnily enough I did look at that, but the licence has to include the copyright symbol even though it's CC. I might draw it I guess. ProfDEH (talk) 12:31, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
