Ojibwe Mississauga name
[edit]Hi, So, I corrected the Mississauga Ojibwe name of the creek from "Gichi-ziibiinh" to "Gichi-ziibiins". The source cited (Along the Shore: Rediscovering Toronto’s Waterfront Heritage, 2013), ONLY provides the spelling of "Che-sippi" which is how the English surveyor wrote it in 1796, and its literal meaning (large creek). So, the conversion of this old spelling to the modern Fiero Ojibwe orthography was not from the cited sources, but the interpolation of the author, who decided to write "ziibiinh" instead of "ziibiins". The spelling has now been corrected, as per several Ojibwe dictionaries and language resources. BasilLeaf (talk) 18:13, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
