[edit]I have carried out a significant upgrade to this article, so it more fully reflects the school’s current state. Improvements made:
- Lede now contains a note about the school’s governance
- WW2 and honours plaques
- Ngāti Whakaue gift and its relevance to the school both in quotidian operations and in the acquisition of computer equipment in 1981
- Kevin J. Lyall historical publication references added
- Moved the gist of the 2009 ‘Controversy’ content out of Tai Mitchell Hostel section to within a new section on the Education Dept review, which also includes the 2022 review of the school
- Noted collaborations with RGHS
- Noted Poly-1 acquisition
- Noted RBHS wins in the PMAEE awards
- Linked to PMAEE video, and added the school’s own YouTube and Facebook sites to External Links
- Created Sports section noting facilities, academies and achievements, including 4 Olympic alumni
- Noted what happened to the school's swimming pool
- Added new section ‘Curriculum’ that lists courses taught by the school for each year
- Extended Hostel section with reference to how it got its name from Tai Mitchell
- Added note about Grinter's MNZM award appending postnomials in InfoBox
- Added many citations that support all the contributions

More edits to improve article 1-5 March 2024
[edit]- Expanded Lede to highlight main notable attributes covered in article, including the level of Māori enrolment
- Removed obsolete House names from Infobox, leaving this in place in the Houses section
- Added colours to House names in Infobox, later copying to Houses section
- Reinstated deleted Curriculum section after providing sources for most curricula (ongoing)
- Copied Category 'People educated at Rotorua Boys' High School' to Categories for notables mentioned under Alumni (ongoing)

- Added Raukura performing group to paragraph on co-operation with RGHS
- Added Beijing Olympics participation to the four who went there in 2008, and copied to Lede.

- Added mention of cost of new Science block where it‘s mentioned it replaced the swimming pool under Sports
- Added win by Biology Head, Angela Sharples of PM Science teacher award
