Middle Name
[edit]When does it mention that Ross's Middle name is Eustace?
I've watched Friends front to back about ten times, and i don't remember ever knowing Ross' middle name. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.174.180.114 (talk) 17:09, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Since no one has replied to this, I might as well. I think it would probably have been mentioned at his wedding to Emily. I haven't checked it, but it's common to have full names "Do you, Ross Eustace Gellar, take ..." etc. Triangl (talk) 01:30, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
I've seen every episode many times over as well and there is no mention of Ross' middle name that I know of (and in all my online searching I have not found an episode identified either).
In his wedding to Emily only his first name is used, as his reply is "I Ross, take thee Rachel..." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Turbogirl11 (talk • contribs) 17:59, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
I heard it said his middle name was Eustace in the script in one episode, but that part got cut out of the episode. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jake Koshka (talk • contribs) 20:08, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
Birth Date
[edit]I'm not really into Friends that much, but in Season 3 when Gunther asks Rachel for her birthday in order to make a birthday list of Central Perk customers, Ross jumps in and says "Oh, mine's December...". Gunther doesn't let him say the rest of the sentence (because of his crush on Rachel, he just wanted to get HER birthday), but apparently December's the right month.
His birthday changes, in the one when Chandler and Joey take him to the Rangers game the date is October 20 and Ross says "my birthday was seven months ago" implying sometime in March. And then in the one where he tries to punch Joey but punches the pole instead Joey goes to write his birthday ("May-tem-ber...") and Ross says it is October 18. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Turbogirl11 (talk • contribs) 18:02, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
Jewish
[edit]shouldn't there be some mention of his being Jewish? Emily (Funtrivia Freak) 02:11, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
It says now in the article that Ross is "half-Jewish". There is no such thing as half-Jewish in the Jewish faith. You're either a Jew (if your mother is Jewish or through conversion) or you're not. "Half-Jewish" is specific nazi terminology and I don't think it should be applied in this sense in Wikipedia. I do, however, remember, Ross teaching his son about Chanukka in one episode and telling Ben that he is "part-Jewish" - which, it goes without saying, is also nonsense. I suggest that "half-Jewish" be replaced simply by "Jewish" in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.145.54.147 (talk) 00:47, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
Birthday
[edit]In the history section, this article states that his birthday must obviously be in december, but in the age section, the author states that his birthday must obviously be in october... I know the show messed it up, but if no one is exactly sure when he was born, the same should not be stated
Ben's last name
[edit]Why is Ben's name listed as Ben Willick? Why wouldn't it be Ben Geller or at least Ben Willick-Geller? Was his last name ever mentioned? --Mezaco 22:14, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
There was a fight over the last name in a episode , i think "the one with sonography" . Carol , Susan and ross are fighing over the last name and apperantly they never come to an agreement . —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jinalkothari (talk • contribs) 19:15, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Ben's last name is Geller-Willick-Bunch. It was decided during the Episode with the birth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.186.54.132 (talk) 17:37, 13 October 2014 (UTC)
Humor
[edit]"However as the years progressed he became more annoying and irritating"
This is opinion, and should probably cite a reference.
"People actually feel disgusted by his inappropriate jokes"
When does this happen? Is this some kind of dry vandalism..?
This whole section is uniformative and speculative and I'll delete it unless someone can explain its validity. Spuddddddd 18:41, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- Delete it. You're right, I just never removed it because I suppose I kind of agreed >.> DSMeatte 04:38, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Family
[edit]Shouldn't his two children be included in this section? screammylungzout
Why does it say Rachel is his spouse? The show ended with the two back together but not married. 98.227.219.192 (talk) 02:31, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- it was revealed in the spin-off series "JOEY" that they got married. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eleashajones (talk • contribs) 10:22, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
Ross and Rachel briefly married in the episode "The One In Vegas", the Season 5 Finale. However they soon divorced in Season 6. wdd123 —Preceding undated comment added 09:16, 30 September 2009 (UTC).
Ben
[edit]Ben was played by Cole Sprouse, not by Cole AND Dylan Sprouse. The character of Ben was played by a single actor. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.152.235.13 (talk) 19:13, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
I think that might be right. On the Season Six Disc 4 DVD they have a Friends of Friends extra and only Cole Sprouse is mentioned. Johnred32 23:24, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
The Geller Yeller
[edit]I do not think that this is noteworthy enough to deserve a full section to it. I suggest that it either be removed or moved to the "Nerdiness" section. Johnred32 21:48, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
No objections? I'm removing it. Johnred32 20:47, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Picture
[edit]Request picture change, it's ambiguous whether Ross is actually Ross or Joey. Someone who hasn't watched friends wouldn't know. 17:44, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

It is a fictional character after all
[edit]The character of Ross Geller , is after all a fictional character after all and inconsistencies are unavoidable . Instead of fighting over minor details we might do better concentrating on the general nature of the character ( although even that me be a relative issue ) . For instance a little feminine nature of the character and his jealousy issues after divorce with Carol .
Red Ross
[edit]Shouldn't there be any mention of the " Red Ross " phenomena ? In reference to the episode " the one with all the rugby " —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jinalkothari (talk • contribs) 19:27, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Character
[edit]Does anybody think that Ross had Asperger syndrome? With all his interest in technical details (and minutae in dinosaurs) and obsessive arguing with Phoebe, it seems that he has a lot of the classic signs. I know it's never mentioned in the series (that i know of), but could it be mentioned that "the character showed many signs of..." or something like that? --Tuzapicabit (talk) 22:20, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
It's a comedy show. Characters have to be a little exagerrated and I don't think it's necessary to speculate that a character might have Asperger's just because a few of his character quirks suggest it. Friends was a high-risk comedy show when it first started, dealing with issues previously undealt with on prime time television and if they had wanted Ross to have noticeably had Asperger's or autism they could have made it a tad more obvious. Besides, can't a guy just be a bit geeky? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.155.203.94 (talk) 16:15, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Graduation year
[edit]It says he would be expceted to graduate 1990, but that he skipped 4th grade, so he graduated 1991.
Surely, if you skip a grade, you graduate a year early? He would only graduate a year late if he had to retake a grade? Triangl (talk) 01:32, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Marriage to Rachel
[edit]It says he's married to Rachel from 2004 onwards, this isnt true, theres no evidence that they got remarried after the final episode. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Heffbeff22 (talk • contribs) 18:42, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
In Joey, Joey implies that all his friends got married. This is your proof.
- An implication is not proof. - SummerPhDv2.0 01:09, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
- Even if it is implied that all of Joey's friends are married, there is no implication that Ross and Rachel got married to each other (i.e. they could have split or gone on another break and each married other people). Frank Anchor 19:11, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
Aliases
[edit]Can somebody tell me how to add the "Aliases" title to the infobox in the article? I formatted it to look exactly like every other category but it still wouldn't show up! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wdd123 (talk • contribs) 09:32, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
Length of first marriage
[edit]This article states that Ross was married to Carol for four years and that Ross was married to Carol for seven years. Which one is accurate? GaryColemanFan (talk) 20:32, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Ross the thief?
[edit]I'm not sure this is 100% accurate or captures the essence of the character:
"He gets his hair cut at the bargain chain "Super Cuts", steals toiletries and other amenities from hotels...., "
Ross is not a common theif who breaks into hotels and steals items, he just takes advantage of what hotels will give away with complements. I recommend this be reworded. Frognsausage (talk) 17:42, 5 August 2010 (UTC)Frognsausage (talk) 17:43, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Relatives
[edit]Added the names of relatives to this page which were on Monica's page already. So, Ross and Monica being siblings, I felt that Ross' page should show all the mutual relatives' names as well. Prat1212 (talk) 22:45, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
These names were in the section of Family of Monica's page and hence added to the family section on this page. Prat1212 (talk) 22:48, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
Too religious
[edit]Isn't Ross Geller way too religious to work as paleontologist, as his religion claims that dinosaurs lived with humans 6000 years ago? 188.113.95.213 (talk) 21:00, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
