External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Roslyn, Washington. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20080703152504/http://epl.eburg.com/Roslyn/explosion.html to http://epl.eburg.com/Roslyn/explosion.html
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Historic district
[edit]I was working on an article for Roslyn Historic District, but when I dug into the details, seems it consists of the entire town. There was little to say that wasn't already better documented in this article, so I just added the NRHP ref and details. The National Register of Historic Places listings in Kittitas County, Washington article links here now for "Roslyn Historic District". Schazjmd (talk) 00:48, 22 January 2020 (UTC)
Environmental Activism
[edit]Hello, I am working on adding links to this page to the finding aid of an archival collection for RIDGE, an environmental association based in Roslyn, WA from 1988-2014. (I work for the Labor Archives of Washington which has custody of the records, and we are planning on uploading our updates to the finding aid very soon for this collection-- so the finding aid externally linked may not appear "updated" yet). RIDGE fought to block the development of the Suncadia Resort among other efforts to rezone forest lands in the area as "forest lands of long term commercial significance". I would also really like to add a section titled something like "environmental activism" to the Roslyn, WA page, but wanted to see if anyone has any thoughts, inputs, and if this talk page is active in general. Drop me a line if you have questions or wanna help out! Abbeym (talk) 18:54, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- Abbeymaynard7, I think the finding aid would be a good external link. On the environmental activism section, do you have reliable sources independent of RIDGE itself? Schazjmd (talk) 19:11, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- Schazjmd, thanks for responding so quickly to my post! I'll add an external link the the finding aid once the updates to the finding aid have been made-- I'm thinking it'll be a week or so. As for sources, myself and the other archivists at Labor Archives of Washington are still working on tracking some additional sources down. I do have an interview done with RIDGE's leaders from last year, not sure if this is a public facing resource yet but I'll look into getting a working link to it. I have also found some local newspaper articles that cover some of RIDGE's projects in their active years. However, that's about all we have found at the moment for reliable independent sources. Do you have any suggestions or feedback about the sources, or more ideas for where to find some? Abbeym (talk) 19:23, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- Abbeymaynard7, I don't know enough about the activism in that region to do a decent search myself yet. I did do a quick scan through the Washington State Library resources, but "roslyn activism", "roslyn environment", "roslyn RIDGE", and "roslyn kilgore" didn't get me anything. Hopefully you find some sources independent to RIDGE and its leaders, as what they say about themselves is of much less importance than what is said about them and their efforts. (Their name is an unfortunate choice, as using a common word makes web searches so difficult.) I did find a book that appears to have a section on environmental issues related to Roslyn and Plum Creek, but King County Library System doesn't carry it, so I've put in an ILL request. Schazjmd (talk) 19:37, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- Schazjmd,You really hit the nail on the head with the organization's name-- I've also been having some difficulty finding sources for that reason. Thank you for sending along the book! New Pioneers actually appears in a part of RIDGE's archival collection, but was the title was inventoried incorrectly in our first round of processing. Good news is though, we can now change it to be included with the correct title in the finding aid! I believe we may also be able to get a copy of New Pioneers through University of Washington Libraries. If we are able to view the book, I believe Chapter 8 is all about RIDGE. I might be able to locate a few more sources from the chapter's bibliography, too. Thanks for the help! When I have an update about the book's availability, I will let you know, too. - Abbeymaynard7, adding another potential source: New future for the Roslyn Ridge. Schazjmd (talk) 21:08, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

@Schazjmd: Thanks! I also wanted to share with you that I have drafted a new page for RIDGE (association) and am working collaboratively with a member of the Cascadia Wikimedians to hopefully get the article reviewed and up more quickly. If you are curious, you can view it here (hopefully!) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Ridge_(association). I'm still pretty new to Wikipedia :) Also, I am working using the Labor Archives of Washington's account, which is why my user name is different in the signature. - LaborArchWA, draft looks good! I made a few style tweaks to it. Schazjmd (talk) 21:47, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
Rosyln Cafe
[edit]The Roslyn Cafe was "renamed" Roslyn's Cafe for "Northern Exposure" by painting in an apostrophe and an s after Rosyln on the existing mural on the side of the building. The paint used wasn't weather resistant and was applied very thin so it would weather away after a few years. http://www.roslynmuseum.com/northern-exposure.html Bizzybody (talk) 09:46, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
