Contrary to the very last sentence of this article which reads, "She was married to a man named Nick Burchstead," St. Philippine was never married. This can be verified by reading any of the biographies that are available including the brief synopsis prepared for her canonization (being named a saint) that appears on the Vatican's web site (www.vatican.va).
The article reads less like an encylopedia entry and more like an excerpt from "Lives of the Saints". The language praises the subject at every turn and was clearly written by someone devoted to her. That's all well and good, but an encyclopedia entry needs to be a dispassionate examination of her life, listing the relevant facts and attributing any praise to those who followed her in life and who continue to do so after her death. As it stands, it's patently obvious that the author(s) fall into that category. I shouldn't be able to tell that the article was written by a devout Catholic. Tried to do something about that. Details still needed on education, death, burial -- it's really very sketchy when one removes the explicit hagiography. DavidOaks (talk) 14:57, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
