Notability
[edit]We object to the deletion of our page for the following reasons:
Roschier is the Finnish member of Lex Mundi (http://www.lexmundi.com/assnfe/cv.asp?ID=10729), a world-renown organization to which you also refer and have an article on (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lex_Mundi); having Roschier article in wikipedia adds on the credibility of both parties and articles
In Google, search word Roschier gets almost 250 000 hits, whereas our Finnish peer Castrén & Snellman gets less than 130 000, and Hannes Snellman less than 110 000. They both have articles.
Roschier’s article is in English and thus readable all over the world (the above mentioned peer articles only in Finnish, limited target groups)
Roschier serves the largest listed companies in the Nordic region, as well as large international clients referred to us from the UK and the US. These clients want to find information on us.
Roschier is among the recommended law firms in all of the largest, independent ranking organizations’ listings, e.g. http://www.chambersandpartners.com/europe/firm/4289/roschier - http://www.legal500.com/firms/10483/offices/10535 and http://www.legal500.com/firms/10483/offices/17543 - http://www.iflr1000.com/Firm/Roschier/Profile/1307#undefined and http://www.iflr1000.com/Firm/Roschier/Profile/1307#undefined
Roschier is one of the largest law firms in the Nordic, and Northern European area. With our turnover of 72 MEUR we are among the 50 largest law firms in Europe (the law firm list on Wikipedia, 2014 list http://www.thelawyer.com/analysis/intelligence/european-100-2014/european-100-2014-ranking/). Also, Roschier is the only law firm who has big operations in the largest Nordic markets, Sweden and Finland. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChristineShaw (talk • contribs) 07:41, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
- @ChristineShaw: Please quote specific sections from Wikipedia:Notability (companies) that you meet. You are, I presume, a lawyer, so I think you should understand this requirement well. Please see also the following list of invalid arguments: Wikipedia:Arguments not to use in deletion discussion. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 23:01, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
- @Piotrus:
Criteria A: “... the organization or product has attracted the notice of reliable sources unrelated to the organization or product. Notability requires only that these necessary sources have been published—even if these sources are not actually listed in the article yet (though in most cases it probably would improve the article to add them).”
Criteria B: “Sources used to support a claim of notability include independent, reliable publications in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, television documentaries, websites, and published reports by consumer watchdog organizations”
This article meets criteria A and B because:
- Roschier is among the recommended law firms in all of the largest, independent ranking organizations’ listings, e.g. http://www.chambersandpartners.com/europe/firm/4289/roschier - http://www.legal500.com/firms/10483/offices/10535 and http://www.legal500.com/firms/10483/offices/17543 - http://www.iflr1000.com/Firm/Roschier/Profile/1307#undefined and http://www.iflr1000.com/Firm/Roschier/Profile/1307#undefined http://whoswholegal.com/firms/601/roschier-attorneys-ltd/ (this source, for example, states: Nominees have been selected based upon comprehensive, independent survey work with both general counsel and private practice lawyers worldwide. Only specialists who have met independent international research criteria are listed.)
- Roschier is one of the largest law firms in the Nordic, and Northern European area. With our turnover of 72 MEUR we are among the 50 largest law firms in Europe (the law firm list on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_European_law_firms_(excluding_UK)_(2012), The Lawyer 2014 list http://www.thelawyer.com/analysis/intelligence/european-100-2014/european-100-2014-ranking/).
- Roschier is the Finnish member of Lex Mundi (http://www.lexmundi.com/assnfe/cv.asp?ID=10729), a world-renown organization to which you also refer and have an article on (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lex_Mundi); having Roschier article in Wikipedia adds on the credibility of both parties and articles.
- Roschier is ranked highly for its services within different legal areas: http://www.worldtrademarkreview.com/wtr1000/rankings/Detail.aspx?g=d7496f6f-fd57-4390-8c2d-db1cbbf99fa2 http://www.iam-magazine.com/patent1000/rankings/Detail.aspx?g=6fb83535-4428-4ed8-82ea-dbe7af5a499c http://www.taxdirectorshandbook.com/c/finland/leading-tax-law-firms/leading-tax-law-firms

- @ChristineShaw: I appreciate the trouble you went to in addressing my concerns. Please make sure that the article incorporates the above arguments, and we should be fine. Cheers, --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:46, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
