Happy to offer a review. J Milburn (talk) 17:53, 22 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Is there a particular reason that Rexer gave it a new specific name? (Or is there a typo in the taxonomy section? The name doesn't match the name given in the taxobox?)
  • Jargon: thin-walled, cheilocystidia
  • "Roridomyces austrororidus has two types of cheilocystidia" Shouldn't that be a singular? You might say "Two types of hair follicle", but you probably wouldn't say "Two types of hair follicles"
  • Actually, I would say it the latter way. I'm not a grammar wonk (and thus can't support my phrasing with other than "it sounds right to me"), but google search results of "types of cystidia" (12,400 hits) vs. "types of cystidium" (6 results) seem to support me. • If we don't have a source saying that the edibility is unknown, I think it would be OR for us to mention it. We might not know, but that's not quite the same thing as it not being known.
  • "Fruit bodies grow in clusters or groups on rainforest trees, decayed logs, fallen Eucalyptus branches, Bedfordia salicina logs and branches, and Nothofagus cunninghamii logs. Fruiting usually occurs after rainy periods from April to June, although the mushroom has also been collected in August.[9]" Any information about typical hosts outside of Australia? If not, perhaps clarify that this is Australia-specific info?
  • Are there any out there who don't recognise Roridomyces? A couple of fairly recent publications cited prefer to call this a Mycena species in the section Roridae- perhaps worth mentioning/clarifying?
  • I don't think so; I haven't seen any literature where the generic transfer is contested by others. But I am interested to know why Gates et al. didn't use the new name in their 2005 paper ... I've just sent an email to ask. Sasata (talk) 19:31, 24 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sources and images are great. J Milburn (talk) 19:00, 22 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've searched around, and I'm afraid I'm a bit lost. I first assumed Mycena rorida (Fr.) Quél. was another taxon entirely- So too M. rorida var. lamprospora. But then I noticed that one of the articles you cited (the article on Mycena mauritiana) mentions Mycena rorida (Fr.) Quél. as a European species in the Roridae, so I'm wondering how closely related the two names are. (In addition, is this the type species of the genus?) • Mycena rorida is now Roridomyces roridus; these species were all in Mycena sect. Roridae before Rexer made a new genus for them; I'll add this close relative to the similar species section. Thanks for the review and comments, I will address them in the next couple of days. Sasata (talk) 19:43, 22 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Great stuff- I'm happy that this is ready. J Milburn (talk) 23:15, 24 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
