Eric Norman Lamont, guitarist (occasional vocalist and bongo player) for the Roots Radics was most often credited with the stage name "Bingy Bunny" (less often as "Bingi Bunny" and "Binghi Bunny").
Unfortunately, he passed on from prostate cancer on December 31st 1993 (sometimes listed as January 1994).
The year of his birth is similarly clouded as either 1954 or 1955. One reference lists his birthdate as September 23rd 1955.
The Roots Radics band featured the hard-hitting Lincoln Valentine Scott, best known as Style Scott, behind the drum kit. Scott pioneered the sparse 'rub-a-dub' drumbeat, making use of a heavy kick drum on beats 1 and 3, dropping sharp snare drum hits on beats 2 and 4, and de-emphasizing the level of the hi hat. This contrasted greatly from the 'rockers' and 'steppers' drumbeats of the late 70s and the more subdued playing styles of Lowell 'Sly' Dunbar and Leroy 'Horsemouth' Wallace. A great example of Style Scott's signature rub-a-dub style is the Barrington Levy 1984 hit 'Under Mi Sensi,' driven by Scott's relentless kick and snare beats. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.96.100.66 (talk) 23:44, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
