Deletion

[edit]

Mr Shusett had some redlinks pointing to his name, so I thought relevant to give him a page. He co-wrote Alien and was quite involved in Total Recall, so I think that's enough to get a page. Plus his page already existed with a wrong spelling and crediting him as an artist. I don't know why this page was never corrected or deleted, so why should my page be, while it's correct and in good condition? There are a lot of pages about things, particular places, organizations, etc. related to an American city only, and that kind of page remains, but who cares anywhere else in the world?... So if these pages are relevant, I don't think this deletion is relevant at all. Klow (talk) 18:18, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regardless of the previous situation, I believe this article asserts and demonstrates sufficient notability for its subject as a screenwriter of some fairly well-known films. IMDB is not the best reference but, frankly, I remember his name from Alien and I'm willing to believe his credits for the rest. If there's a problem, perhaps this should go to AfD rather than the speedy deletion process; I'd appreciate hearing about it if someone disagrees with my removal of the speedy tag, and apologize for substituting my judgment. Birth year

[edit]

In a 1991 New York Times interview, it mentions that Shusett was 47 at the time. However, various public records point to him being born in 1935. Which would be added here? https://www.nytimes.com/1991/03/29/movies/at-the-movies.html 2600:100C:A209:D108:D8B3:3276:92B6:521 (talk) 20:59, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
