Record stated "as an SEC coach" was Mississippi State only. Added in Georgia record.

Saying "SEC championships" instead of "SEC regular season championships" may help avoid confusion with having the best regular season conference record. The SEC championship has been determined at various times by having the best regular season conference record, winning a two team play off, or winning the conference tournament. For example, in 1985 Mississippi State had the third best regular season conference record but won the conference tournament which at that time determined the conference champion.

I've looked and can not find a reference for No. 1 rankings during the years 1985, 1989, and 1992. The only one I could find was for 2006 which was for two weeks early in the season. Sounds about right but I have not been able to find anything to back it up. I'm not sure of the significance of it since probably only the 1985 team finished close at all to No. 1. The 1989, 1992, and 2006 teams did not make the CWS.

Mississippi State Bio is a dead link.
