Good work. :)--dan, dan and dan 22:36, 22 January 2006 (UTC) Ta mate...! The next article I'm going to tackle (pun intended) is the NSWRL Premier League... --User:CumberlandsAshes81 11:12, 23 January 2006 (UTC) I'm thinking of adding a list of Metro Cup premiers - though, for the life of me, I can't find out who the 1999 Premiers were (and can't remember) - would prefer not to publish an incomplete table. Have all the others:[reply]

  • 1990 Ryde-Eastwood Hawks
  • 1991 Guilford Owls
  • 1992 Newtown Jets
  • 1993 St Mary's Saints
  • 1994 St Mary's Saints
  • 1995 Newtown Jets
  • 1996 Newtown Jets
  • 1997 Newtown Jets
  • 1998 Wentworthville Magpies
  • 1999  ?
  • 2000 Ryde-Eastwood Hawks
  • 2001 St Mary's Saints
  • 2002 Sydney Bulls

If anyone who stumbles across this page can help with that info - it would be greatly appreciated...! --User:CumberlandsAshes81 9:01, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

According to World of Rugby League Wentworthville won in 1999.--dan, dan and dan 23:30, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that Dan! Also, good work on the tables... This is probably now the most comprehensive collection of information on this topic available anywhere. --User:CumberlandsAshes81 12:10, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, seen this site - great research from that guy to put it all together... If you want to add these results to the article go ahead (Wenty's record was brilliant between 64 - 73!). I'm going to see if the Sydney University Rugby League club article has the information that they competed in 2nd Division after leaving the Premiership... --User:CumberlandsAshes81 12:15, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just updated this article --User:CumberlandsAshes81 4:00, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

Player Eligibility/Salary Cap

[edit]

A section on the rules for player eligibility (i.e. local players, not washed-up NRL players)? Or how much it costs to run a semi-professional team at this level as reasons for high turn-over of clubs competing (I've heard that Ryde-Eastwood used to spend $800k/year on their Metro Cup team) may err on the side of POV, though --User:CumberlandsAshes81 4:03, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

Shellharbour City

[edit]

Added a note that Shellharbour City will join the competition in 2007. There are likely to be a number of announcements regarding teams dropping out and coming in - I'll add them as they emerge. -- User:CumberlandsAshes81 23 August 2006

Teams tidy up

[edit]

Personally, i find the listing of the teams every year since 2003 as too long. Do you reckon that a listing of a table for the current clubs is more suitable. The table could have the year the club joined, stadiums (home-grounds, premierships etc. Something similar to what the NSW Cup has (the 2nd tired comp). Good suggestion? Or just leave it? Ron Massey Cup (rename of comp)

[edit]

The Bundy Red Cup has finished up at the end of 2012. Bundy Red decided not to continue with naming rights. The Ron Massey Cup is the new name for this competition, but i wasn't sure how to change it. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/nsw-cup-games-to-be-televised-as-nrl-curtain-raisers/story-e6frexnr-1226541437533 mentions the name change (among several rugby league forums).
