FA Vase 2023/2024 win
[edit]Round 2 - Romford 2-0 Crawley Green A goal inside 52 seconds and a penalty save in the 89th minute were the highlights as Romford were made to work hard for the win.
Round 3 - Romford 3-0 Mildenhall Town Boro turned in a faultless performance against a Mildenhall Town side that had conceded just six goals in 11 away games in all competitions.
Round 4 - Romford 2-1 Stanway Pegasus Boro's margin of victory over Pegasus should have been wider as numerous chances were created. A combination of narrowly off-target shots and good saves by Stanway keeper Sam Felgate restricted Boro to a two-goal lead and a Pegasus reply 18 minutes from time set up a nervy finish as both sides finished with 10 men.
Round 5 - Hilltop 1-3 Romford
Charlie Morris scored twice after Ash Siddik’s opener as Boro reached the last eight for the first time in club history. Kick-off was delayed by 15 minutes due to the late arrival of the home team, who had hired the ground at Cobham due to a favoured artificial surface.
Semi Final 1st Leg - Romford 2-2 Lincoln United Boro came from behind after an early red card to keep their hopes alive in an absorbing contest. Newby was sent off in the fourth minute for a challenge on Tobias Liverside, with Matthew Cotton putting the visitors ahead from the spot on nine minutes.
Semi Final 2nd leg - Lincoln United 0-0 Romford (9-10 on penalties)
Boro booked their place at Wembley on an unforgettable day in the East Midlands after a marathon penalty shootout. After 90 goalless minutes, Jamie Hursit placed the 24th spot-kick beyond Steggles to send Boro back to the national stadium for the first time since 1949.
Final - Romford 3-0 Great Wakering Rovers
Romford secured the 2024 Isuzu FA Vase as they defeated Great Wakering Rovers 3-0 at Wembley, with striker Hassan Nalbant scoring a brace. After losing in the Essex Senior Football League play-offs, Romford were looking for a change their luck and they begun the first half well, Finley Dorrell coming closest on the half hour mark with a left-footed effort.
