A fact from Roman Bunka appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 11 August 2022 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that the German guitarist Roman Bunka(pictured) studied the Arabic oud in Egypt and played in Mohamed Mounir's band at the Pyramids of Giza to celebrate entering the year 2000?
Does anyone know of evidence of the awards given (1993: BBC's Prix Futura for his production of the radio play Tunguska Guska by Grace Yoon, Sainkho Namchilak, Iris Disse and 1995: German Record Critics' Prize for Color me Cairo)? I can't find anything about this on the internet, and even if several descriptions of his career mention this, a reliable source is necessary for this. - If we can't add these sources, we might have to delete these awards. If a serious description mentions it, that should be good enough for RD. (This is not a featured article). Once exposed to a broader public, we may more likely find someone with a better source than when hiding the awards. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:20, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hope your expectation will come true. Since there is no known source or even a serious description of him having received the German Music Critics' Award, however, I have tagged this with [citation needed]. That's all I can do for the time being. Munfarid1 (talk) 15:24, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I have added this link from Die Tageszeitung as reliable source for his awards. Do you want to schedule it now for the Recent deaths section? Munfarid1 (talk) 16:22, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Gerda, hope this will lead to more visits from English speaking readers. The German version of this had an astounding >25.000 visits during the last three days! And I just added an external link to a video of his and Embryo's tour to India from 1979!Munfarid1 (talk) 16:49, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
