Discussion of article composition dispute
[edit]I have again reverted the changes by the IP address to this page.
My justifications are as follows;
Infobox
The Template for the infobox can be found HERE
My revision of the page corrects the following mistakes by the IP address which bring the Cullinan's infobox out of conformity with this template
"Manufacturer" --> The Template allows for the wikilinked name of the parent company of a given car's manufacturer to be stated in parentheses;;;; You may show the parent company of a given manufacturer in parentheses after the manufacturer entry, if applicable. The IP address removed BMW from this field
"Designer"
This is the stickiest point with the IP. Giles Taylor is Rolls-Royce's "Director of Design"; the company has not, in the case of the Cullinan, disclosed who designed the car; rather they have let their Design Director be the spokesman for the car's design. Contrast this with the Phantom VII; Ian Cameron headed the design/acted as Director of Design at the time of the VII's development, BUT, he did not design the car, Marek Djordjevic did, see here --> http://www.autonews.com/article/20030113/SUB/301130848/phantom-was-immersed-in-rolls-lore
As regards the Autocar article, the line in question is “With other Rolls-Royces,” says designer Giles Taylor, “the occupants’ involvement with the car ends with the arrival. This can't be considered definitive evidence of his being the car's designer;; the phrasing of the sentence allows for his simply being one individual (in this case the leader) of the design team of the Cullinan. And the Business Wire article also fails to support your claim, in fact it actually supports mine;; GT set the car's design "template", i.e. he set the rough shape/proportions etc he wanted the car to have, and gave this template to a team of designers who each submitted proposals, the best of which was accepted.
Confusion between Director of Design and actual designer is rife; Chris Bangle (former DoD, BMW) did not design the controversial E65 7 Series, Adrian van Hooydonk did.
I don't want the Cullinan to fall foul of this falsehood.
I'd like to repeat, R-R have not explicitly stated who designed the car!!
"Class"
The "Class" field should not mention the car's bodystyle (i.e. SUV), as this is handled literally by the very next field, "Body style". The IP's revision mentions SUV in both fields, which looks amateurish and fails to comply with the Template Example: | class = Mid-size
Lead section
Re the Cullinan diamond and the Queen,
In the first instance, it sounds silly to say the Diamond is "owned by Queen Elizabeth II";; it's actually part of the UK's Crown Jewels. Now, this fact shouldn't be mentioned at all, the car derives its name from the Diamond, the Diamond's owner is immaterial. Mentioning the Queen seems to be a way of trying of trying to give the car extra prestige.
Thereafter, the IP has seen fit to remove a fully-referenced "Specifications" section which succinctly coneys all the car's key technical details with a mostly unreferenced "Construction" section that existed ever before the car was officially unveiled which, as such, is outdated.
I believe it is quite clear that my edit should prevail. Please note that I mentioned most of the above in edit summaries when I have previously undone the IP's work;; they have defamed me as an anti-UK (?) racist.
So as to prevent further vandalism from IPs, page protection may be necessary.

This car Cullinan was designed by Giles Taylor according to 2 websites Saying He designed the car “Working with the Architecture of Luxury, Taylor and his team designed the car he knew would meet expectations. Just because you couldn't find sources that say Britain man Taylor designed the Cullinan doesn’t mean he didn’t design it. Unfortunately other people founded the sources saying He designed the Cullinan. So you should accept the facts and stop removing the references that other people provided.
And British Man Giles Taylor is the Director of Design of Rolls Royce Motors His Job is to design the cars. End of Story.
If you don’t like and can’t the facts. Go somewhere else
And For the Cullinan Diamond. There are 9 Cullinan Diamonds. Only 2 of them owned by Queen Elizabeth II in right of the Crown. And the rest 7 Cullinan Diamonds are privately owned by Queen Elizabeth II herself inherited from the Family Queen Mary.
