The second external link seems broken. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.97.4.103 (talk) 19:12, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is a rumour that his body was lost or destroyed (noted on find a grave) : http://www.findagrave.com/php/famous.php?page=pr&FSctf=162 can can this be clarified.77.98.252.87 (talk) 22:40, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

Just put an "unreliable sources" tag on the page. IMDB isn't a reliable source; I'm sure editors are capable of finding information on Delgado that complies with WP:RS. Thanks. - DustFormsWords (talk) 04:13, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Have removed an external link to a YouTube video of the Harry Worth show, on three bases: (1) The video linked to does not show Delgado (I understand he's in a later part of the same episode, but the link should point to that part if it's going to be in the article at all), (2) Per WP:EXTERNAL, external links should contribute to an encyclopedic understanding of the article topic. This isn't one of his defining roles, so I don't see how it meets that standard, and (3) Very little broadcast television is in the public domain, so we should have a strong rationale for how this particular piece is' before linking to it on YouTube (who is almost certainly not the copyright owner). - DustFormsWords (talk) 04:13, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Birth name variants

[edit]
"Funeral Directors and services - Roger Delgado". Family Announcements.

lists his birth name as Roger Caesar Marius Bernard de Delgado Torres Castillo Roberto.

Doctor Who: Frontier In Space: Disc 2: Roger Delgado: The Master (video). 2|entertain, BBC Worldwide Americas, Inc. 2009. Event occurs at 00:00:01. UPC 8-83929-09629-9. {{cite AV media}}: |format= requires |url= (help)

lists his birth name as Roger Ceasar Marius de Delgado Torres Castillo de Roberto.

Note that "Bernard" only occurs in the first reference and that the name in the second reference ends in "de Roberto" not "Roberto".

I've created incoming redirects for both variants. It is possible that both are wrong and that the correct name is Roger Caesar Marius Bernard de Delgado Torres Castillo de Roberto. But as we say on Wikipedia, [[citation needed]] :). davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 03:38, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Incompatible statements

[edit]

"The Master's story arc was to have ended in The Final Game, which was planned as the final story to feature Pertwee's Third Doctor, but the story was scrapped following Delgado's sudden death and replaced with Planet of the Spiders"

"Jon Pertwee often remarked that Delgado's death was one of the reasons he decided to leave Doctor Who the following year"

These statements are incompatible. One of them must be untrue (i.e., if the first statement is true, Pertwee may well have said what he is reported to have said, but what he said was not true). Harfarhs (talk) 16:35, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
