Low Standards
[edit]This article is clearly overly biased and is not "technical" enough. I'll give some touch-ups on it when I have time, can someone else help on too?
- Added POV template, I'm not the one too look for with copy edits but this should get attention. TKE 05:37, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Can I help?
I've a intermediary level in english and I can help this project. Pronunciation
[edit]I was wondering the correct pronunciation of his name (IPA: [xo'dɾigu ʒũ'kejɾɐ dus 'xejs sɐ͂'tɔru]) as I am planning to record a spoken article of the Nikki Fernandez and Paulo page. Thanks! •97198 talk 10:49, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- The phonemic transcription of initial "r" in Brazilian Portuguese is /ʁ/. The phoneme /ʁ/ has multiple allophones, however, in Brazil, depending on the region and the speaker. One possible allophone is [x] as you wrote, but it can be realized also as [h]. Per Wikipedia policy, I believe we should stick to the phonemic transcription rather than the actual pronunciation, which, as I said, has a broad range of regional variation. 161.24.0.40 (talk) 12:29, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
