I have deleted a claim that the ship was re-rigged as a barque after Boissière bought her in the 1890s, as none of the sources cited substantiates the claim. However, it was very common to reduce clippers from full rig to a barque in their latter years, if they were switched from high-speed passenger work to economy cargo-carrying. If you have a reliable source to verify that Gipsy was converted into a barque, please reinstate the statement in the article. Thankyou. Motacilla (talk) 11:58, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
