Operatic "oops"

[edit]

The article states: Featuring the operatic voice of Mary Thomas during the introduction, she flubbed the first take by starting the vocals too early. However, Jeff Lynne elected to use the take (complete with her interjection, "Oops!") anyway.

It is clearly there, although it could just be ooh rather than oops - never knew it was a mistake, always assumed it was a deliberate bit of business. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.193.198.230 (talk) 09:33, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

However, listening to my version on CD 2 of The Ultimate Collection I cannot hear the said Oops. Did this occur on all versions, or is this some sort of urban legend that can't be backed up by listening to the track. Or is it just a case of it's too subtle to really notice? I never heard it before either, but I just recently ripped my CD and now can, so it was there all along. Dunno what's up with that but it could be the case for you. Glandrid (talk) 01:16, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have found versions on YouTube where it is quite clear. It might just be that for "The Ultimate Collection" they decided to chop it off, hence it not existing on my version Nrms (talk) 18:25, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Plagiarism?

[edit]

I can't be the only one who believes the entirety of the introduction looks like it was plagiarised from somewhere. Can anybody identify the source? The section is going to need quite a rewrite. I am the 0dd1. (talk) 21:20, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
