- Lead
- "... and was officially opened to the Municipal Borough of Rochdale ...". What does "opened" mean here? Handed over to?
- I suppose "...inaugurated for the governance of the Municipal Borough of Rochdale" might be clearer - that is what was meant. --Jza84 | Talk 19:24, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- "The original design included ...". Implies that the Town Hall was built to a design other than the original one.
- History
- "... a derelict 17th-century house, known as 'the Wood'". That can't be right. Either it was known as "Wood", in which case it would be "known as the "Wood", or it was known as "The Wood".
- I tackled this here. --Jza84 | Talk 22:34, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- "... and numerous manufactories". What's a "manufactory" when it's at home?
- ... a factory. It's a bit of archaic terminology that's slipped through the net using an old source. I'll grab that. --Jza84 | Talk 19:22, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- "... the inhabitant householders of the Rochdale constituency ..." What the Hell does that mean?
- Basically "eligible voters". I'll grab that. --Jza84 | Talk 20:03, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- "The cause of the fire was never establihed, but Rochdale's fire service was criticised for taking longer to respond to the blaze than Oldham's, (based 5 miles (8 km) south), despite it being housed in the Town Hall. This makes no sense to me, and even seems to be suggesting that Rochdale's fire service was complicit in the blaze. For instance, who was "housed" in the Town Hall?
- I don't know if this is clearer? --Jza84 | Talk 22:23, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- "... when the scheme had been tendered within a budget of £20,000". What does "been tendered within" mean?
- I think I got this with this diff. --Jza84 | Talk 22:10, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- "... in April 1860 permission was granted by Rochdale Corporation to buy the site for £4,730". Permission was granted to whom? Didn't the Corporation buy it?
- I think I got this with this diff. --Jza84 | Talk 22:10, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- Location
- "The Parish Church of St Chad, Rochdale is situated behind the Town Hall by a wooded hillside." I'm not sure I understand what that's saying. What's "by a wooded hillside"? Is the Town Hall by a wooded hillside?
- I think I got this with this diff. --Jza84 | Talk 22:12, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- "The Town Hall was one of several built in the textile towns of North West England during this period...". What period?
- Hopfully this is clearer. --Jza84 | Talk 22:16, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- Interior
- "... although the painting is dirty". Seems a bit damning. What's dirty about it?
- I'm not sure - I didn't add this, and presently the sourcing is unclear to verify. --Jza84 | Talk 19:22, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- Location
- "... The Parish Church of St Chad, Rochdale is situated ...". Can the "Rochdale" not be dropped? Where else would it be?
- Conceded. I'll get that fixed. (I also think the church is worth an article too - it's a medieval building for one of the north's largest former parishes...another day though...) --Jza84 | Talk 20:42, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- Clock tower
- "It also differs from the original in that the spire or lantern is built of stone". Is lantern another word for spire?
- I have no idea. Not my work, but I'll chase this up. --Jza84 | Talk 22:34, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- Images
- This isn't strictly needed to meet the GA criteria, but on the assumption that this will be going on to FAC, the images need to be more specifically attributed. For instance, File:Rochdale Town Hall.jpg links to the web site, not to the page where the image can be found.
- It's probably my bad formatting. The link to the website takes you to the image page. Also, though, there is a direct link in the "Permission" bit ("This image was taken from the Geograph project collection. See this photograph's page on the Geograph website for the photographer's contact details...."). I can change the first bit if necessary. --Jza84 | Talk 20:14, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- My mistake. I just looked at the link, I didn't follow it. --Malleus Fatuorum 20:29, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

That's good enough for me. This article is now a GA.
