[edit]Regardless of what people in Mr. Schimminger's office think, factual, verified information should NEVER be removed from an article. Mr. Schimminger is an elected public official. It is public knowledge that a member of his family was convicted in 2003 of stealing nearly a quarter of a million dollars from a federal education fund.
This is obviously the type of information that would be of significant interest to the voting public. It is information that they have a right to.
Someone, most likely from his office has attempted to remove this information from this article more than once. In their last edit, information such as Mr. Schimminger's re-election with 91% of the vote was included, and at the same time the information about the criminal conviction for theft and fraud of a family member was removed. Obviously articles about politicians should be "fair and balanced".
In other words, while the information about the family member is not positive, it is indeed relevant, especially to the public, who entrusts Mr. Schimminger with their well-being. Osirisascending (talk) 15:31, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
