Airplane

[edit]

Why is there no mention of the film "Airplane" for this article?

Birth name source

[edit]

Source for birth name is California birth record. Contemporaty newspaper articles and California death record are sources for info on parents. Questors 01:19, 16 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The Notable Names Database lists Stack's real name as James Langford Modini, which is different than this article! Why is this? [1] Gilliamjf 05:28, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Transformers The Movie is a comedy?

[edit]

"Known for his steadfast, humorless demeanor, he made fun of his own persona in comedies such as 1941 (1979), Airplane! (1980), Transformers: The Movie (1986), Caddyshack II (1988), the animated Beavis and Butt-head Do America (1996), and BASEketball (1998)."

Is The Transformers The Movie really considered a comedy? I'm fixing this.

Cancer Death?

[edit]

It says he died of Heart Failure, yet he's listed under the "Cancer Death" category? While I do feel this is an error, far be it for me to remove it from the listings. I figured I'd at least bring this to the attentions of someone who could bring light to the issue more accordingly.

Do heart failure and heart attack mean the same thing? Hotwine8 23:24, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bisexual actors?

[edit]

The article lists Robert Stack as a bisexual actor, but makes no mention and offers no evidence of his "bisexuality". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.185.133.255 (talk) 01:02, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, he had an affair with Rock Hudson while making Written on the Wind. (92.11.51.243 (talk) 14:46, 8 July 2009 (UTC))[reply]

No, he said "evidence". You saying it just now does not constitute "evidence". Wknight94 talk 19:23, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Even Edith Piaf said that Stack was actively bisexual and pretended to be anti-gay since it was illegal at the time. (92.13.114.0 (talk) 19:40, 8 July 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Well, that still sounds a lot like "you saying it", and not much like "evidence". Wknight94 talk 20:11, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Missing: Untouchables

[edit]

I was surprised to see that neither the TV show or the movie "The Untouchables" is listed in Stack's filmography in this article. Considering he would be almost unknown but for them, it's a curious omission. Myles325a (talk) 03:24, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stack was a hot rodder who raced at the dry lakes in Southern Calif. in 1941. A photo of him in his hot rod appeared in FORD NEWS in 1931. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.128.244.171 (talk) 02:38, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Missing: The Equalizer

[edit]

I first saw Robert Stack playing the role of Control in The Equalizer, a mid-1980s TV show with Edward Woodward. He was extremely memorable in this role and helped to depict the moral and spiritual costs paid by those who fought secretly to protect the West from the Communist geopolitical threat. 70.24.25.19 (talk) 05:00, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
