I suspect there may be confusion over dates here. He can't have been born around 1520 if he was an MP for Lynn in 1529. The latter is confirmed by History of Parliament Online. This reckons he was born around 1506, which is much more plausible. There were quite a number of Southwells who were MPs in Tudor times, and even Hist. Parl. links them wrongly in some cases. It is possible that the confusion is with a Richard Southwell, alias Darcy, who was only distantly related. Or it could just be a typo. Sjwells53 (talk) 12:01, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
