Removal of notability tag
[edit]I think I've added enough secondary sources to make the article delete-proof, and I've removed the notability tag. (I've been impressed with how important paper sources—nearly invisible to electronic search—are for this topic.) Let me suggest that if there's continued disagreement about notability that the article be taken back to AfD.--John Foxe (talk) 16:00, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- Great job, John! I'm adding some clarification that much of the claims about this guy appear to be a single guy making an anecdotal account, followed by others repeating the story. But, your work has much improved the article, thanks!JoelWhy (talk) 16:17, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the compliment. Let me take a shot at giving the reader the same information without the prose sounding so laborious. (The same sort of thing happens on the Mormon side of my watchlist when folks want to stick "allegedly" in front of everything Joseph Smith ever said about angels and golden plates.)--John Foxe (talk) 21:29, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- Yea, I see your point. I think you've made it sufficiently clear that much of these accounts are generally viewed as folklore rather than history.JoelWhy (talk) 12:24, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
