Comments

  • "July 24, 1738 in Formby, Lancashire, England into" commas after year and England.
  • "the war of independence" is this capitalised and linkable?
  • "of Prefect Apostolic of the United States" just checking our article calls it "Apostolic Prefect" rather than "Prefect Apostolic"...
    • It seems that article refers to the institutional "Apostolic Prefecture", while in the Molyneux article, it refers to Carroll as the official "Prefect Apostolic." I've seen the two words reversed both in reference to the institution and the position, but my impression is that "Prefect Apostolic" is more common for the office while "Apostolic Prefecture" is more common for the office. This confusion arises because both are permissible translations from the Latin. Ergo Sum 18:14, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The pope consented" feels odd to use the generic pope link after you've already referred to the specific pope earlier on.
  • "published two catechisms, one in 1785 and another 1788, making him, so far as is known, the first American to edit a catechism" is publish really equivalent to edit?
    • Well, the source is a little hazy as to what exactly was done. When I was doing a bit of research, other sources said he essentially put out the first catechism. My impression, then, was that he published a catechism, which wasn't just a reprint of one compiled by someone else. Ergo Sum 18:17, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • "as well as recreation for" how so, a space for recreation?
  • "supreme pontiff" is piped to pope, and pope is already linked (but see above comment)
  • "While superior of the ..." caption is a complete sentence so needs a period.
  • "scholasticate" I literally don't know what this means (and Chrome thinks it's a typo!)
    • It's the type of educational institution that members of religious orders enter after completing their novitiate. I wish there were an article on it, as linking to that would be much more preferable to adding a footnote on every article that referred to it. Maybe I can make a short article on it. Ergo Sum 18:24, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • " Jesuit Community Cemetery " unnecessarily piped.
  • Could add Category:People from Formby?

Nothing else I can see here. Good stuff. The Rambling Man (Staying alive since 2005!) 08:26, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, The Rambling Man. Ergo Sum 18:24, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, looks fine so I'm promoting. The Rambling Man (Staying alive since 2005!) 14:32, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
