Spelling of "Ket"
[edit]Being a local resident of Wymondham, I felt that I should point out that the most common spelling by far is 'Kett'. I have never seen the spelling 'Ket' before until Wikipedia, and if you search google for 'Robert Ket' it does suggest 'Robert Kett' as the correct spelling. --—This unsigned comment is by EdNeave (talk • contribs) 21:42, 6 September 2005.
- Well I must admit, I came here looking for 'Robert Kett'. Given the lack of counter response, and the fact that the references given in the article also use Kett, I've gone ahead and moved the page. However, I found that a Google search (even after removing Wikipedia mirrors) was more or less evenly split on the two spellings and it should be noted that the Britannica appears to prefer 'Ket'. -- Solipsist 12:54, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
There are apparently a few versions of the Kett surname in the record, spelt 'Kett', 'Ket', 'Catt' or 'Knight'. I know this since I apparently am a direct descendant of Robert Kett, and I say It's kind of cool having a rebel in the family tree. Anyways, the merger seems a sound proposal. Sbmcmull
Just deleted some material from a few versions ago, removing trivia about local beer and a student's complaint about a professor teaching Kett's rebellion. I figured manual deletion would be preferable to a revert in this case since it would avoid disrupting the merge suggestion (with which, incidentally, I agree). Suggested merge
[edit]I don't agree with the suggested merge. I think it is useful to have an article specifically concerning Robert Kett rather than the wider issues of the rebellion. Walgamanus 12:53, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
I disagree. Robert Kett is intrinsically linked to his Rebellion, and there is little else of any significance in his life that doesn't relate to the Rebellion. It should probably constitute a section in a much larger article on Kett's Revellion.Vidung 21:30, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
