[edit]This is a WIP only because it's late & I wanted to get it started. I've known RJG & The Enid for years but will endeavour to provide verifiable references for anything I say! Please post comments here, it's on my watch list so I'll get back to you ASAP, usually within an hour. Any contributions & suggestions welcome. Rodhullandemu 01:26, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Remove page
[edit]I am sure that no-one has ever heard of this person. Surely wikipedia should only be used to provide biographies for persons that at least have a measure of public recognition. I propose this page is removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.72.243.97 (talk) 20:50, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- The above is mean-spirited at best. Godfrey was influential in the early works of Barclay James Harvest, and while his current band may not enjoy major commercial acclaim they do have a strong cult following and are one of the world's longest-surviving rock bands. - I agree. Not every professional musician has a place on wikipedia. This musician has not made an impact the world of music and I think does not deserve an article.--Karljoos (talk) 14:01, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
- Ah, and nothing mean-spirited here, it's just a matter of notability.--Karljoos (talk) 14:06, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I didn't think much of the first sentence up there, and the second wasn't much better. As for the whole notability issue, just don't get me started.Lee M (talk) 03:24, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- I will not pursue the deletion of this page, but I don't think that this person, even though he might meet the General Notability Criteria, should have an article here. I am honestly interested in what you haveto say, so please say what you have to say regarding the notability of this person and the comments made by other editors here. Cheers--Karljoos (talk) 10:12, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
To claim that no one has ever heard of RJG, is at best stupid, at worse malicious. At the helm of the Enid he has released 20 + albums, and played all the major venues all over the UK and abroad. He is still working, and has several new compositions for release. He has been reported on, and interviewed by, all the mainstream UK music press at various times. He still, after thirty years in the music business, has a huge fan base which supports him financially and attends his concerts. 136.153.2.2 (talk) 02:58, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
To say that RJG is "not notable" is just plain sillySerpren (talk) 03:56, 25 January 2015 (UTC)
