Request Edit
[edit]Plwase take this site down. I did not want this site to exist, and told the "author", Joseph S. Sheridan I did not want a Wikipedia page, but he did it without my permission. It is full of mistakes, mis-quotes, rumors and a very bad picture. Please remove it entirely. I have told Joe Sheridan to do so, but I told him not to do it in the first place, so I do not trust him to take it down, but have more hope for your people. Thank you in advance for your actions to remove the entry. ROBERT ODELL HAWKINS 07:47, 23 November 2015 (UTC)92.16.217.65 (talk)
I contacted Wikipedia and researched policy for removal. It appears that Wikipedia prefers editing of any mistakes or mis-quotes. I am requesting information to create an article based solely on the truth. If the article can be removed because of the subject's concerns then I am requesting information on that process from other editors. Futuronyc (talk) 08:56, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
Subject of article not happy about existence of page.
[edit]Robert Hawkins, the subject of this article, contacted me personally throgh social media and asked me to remove this page on the grounds that he is not interested in a Wikipedia page about him. I explained to him Wikipedia's policies were to encourage editing as opposed to deletion. Can anyone advise on the protocol and rights of the subject? Futuronyc (talk) 08:48, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
- Is it part of his art practice to avoid publicity? Strangely, that photo you have uploaded of him seems to be a 'selfie', so I wonder how that can be your own work. Makes me wonder what's going on here! P.S. I've removed the variously alleged years/dates of birth because there clearly is a dispute about this. Sionk (talk) 23:44, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
The birth date was correct.I don't know that it is a selfie, but I removed the photo...as that was a specific grievance of the subject. I am seeking information on the protocol for a subject requesting the removal of an article on them and their rights. Innthe meantime any information on making the article 100 percent factual is welcome. Futuronyc (talk) 03:17, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
