- Transit circle is the same as Meridian circle. This site shows that Ertel (Traugott Lebrecht Ertel [Fribourg 1778 - Munich 1858]) built mathematical instruments at the Mathematical-Mechanical Institute of Munich. Unscintillating (talk) 17:08, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
