Notability

[edit]

Gibbs clearly meets the general criterion for notability of persons:

"A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has been the subject of published secondary source material which is reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject."

-"Hannity quickly refuted him by reiterating his 30+ year support of Israel and Gibbs was left to look like an idiot."- Just removed this. Gotta be kidding' right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.189.17.223 (talk) 06:34, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why is Gibbs listed as the 28th press secretary when he's not, yet? To say he is scheduled to become that is accurate, but he's not it, yet, and shouldn't be identified that way until he is. This kind of thing is what leaves Wikipedia open to accusations of being inaccurate and, at times, rather silly.Wilburweber (talk) 20:15, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Voter re-identification work

What is this? I can see the source says it, but that is one of the things we should explain. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 03:03, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Robert Gibbs controversial "professional left" comments

[edit]

Shouldn't there be a section on this growing (and already rather large) controversy? google link —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cowicide (talkcontribs) 07:50, 15 August 2010

An entire section would be overkill, but if people remain snippy about it, it deserves one or two sentences within the White House Press Secretary section (I don't think he's been griped at enough for an entire controversy section, but I'm sure he'll give himself a chance to grow). Spinoff 19:43, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
"Snippy"? If you are an Obama supporter, you might dismiss those complaints as "snippy," but many WP:RS on the left have criticized Obama's health care plan. In terms of WP:WEIGHT the health care plan is more important than the Canadian hockey sweater (which I think is trivial and should be deleted). -- Nbauman (talk) 14:15, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request
