The result of the move request was: Moved to Robert E. Hall (soldier) per consensus below. Changing original title to a redirect to the Robert Hall disambiguation page. (non-admin closure) Turnagra (talk) 19:43, 8 April 2022 (UTC)
Robert E. Hall → ? – Not the primary topic, since Robert Hall (economist) is also commonly referred to as "Robert E. Hall" (e.g.) and the two pages get comparable views. There's also Robert E. Hall (physician) (which has no pageview data yet because I created it 10 minutes ago.) I'm not sure what an appropriate disambiguator would be for this Robert. (soldier)? (sergeant major)? I propose that the base name be replaced by a disambiguation page (compare, for example, Thomas B. Allen). Colin M (talk) 16:58, 21 March 2022 (UTC)
- Support move to either Robert E. Hall (soldier) or Robert E. Hall (US Army soldier). The former option is more concise, but the latter provides additional precision, which could be helpful to distinguish him from the Royal Navy officer and so on. I'm also in support of establishing a disambiguation page at the base "Robert E. Hall" title. ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 15:52, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
- Of those two options, I would prefer Robert E. Hall (soldier), since that disambiguator seems to be in wide use for other articles (e.g. Thomas Chamberlain (soldier), Mohit Sharma (soldier)), whereas the other is not used in any existing articles. I see your point about Robert Hall (Royal Navy officer), but since he doesn't use the middle initial "E.", I don't think there's a problem of ambiguity. Colin M (talk) 15:04, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
- Support Robert E. Hall (soldier). The RN admiral is not a soldier! In Britain, this only refers to members of the British Army; we don't use "soldier" to refer to members of other services. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:12, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
