Inaccuracy Withdrawn
[edit]I am withdrawing an incorrect statement that he was an Under-Secretary at the Home Department under Lord Liverpool. The fact was attached to him in footnote to the article on the Earls of Plymouth in The Complete Peerage (from which much of the information added here is derived) but I have discovered, confirmed by article in the History of Parliament, that this post was in fact held during the stated period by an unrelated Henry Clive (1777-1848), who was also a captain in the Shropshire Militia in 1809 and was MP for Ludlow (before R H Clive) 1807-1818, after which he sat for Montgomeryshire.Cloptonson (talk) 19:16, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
