[edit]This article and some related ones need cleaning up that I don't have time to do right now. Some areas that need attention begin with:
- This should be Robert Blair CAMPBELL at least according to the US Congress BioGuide
- His brother is John CAMPBELL - [Congress Bioguide] has no birth year or middle name or parent info. - A WIKI entry for this same John CAMPBELL shows him as born 1795 - but the links to his parents are broken or missing
- Add external references to the BioGuide - and then if someone has better info on this - maybe pass it along to the BioGuide folks and update this article as well.
- His family back in Scotland appears to tie back to these folks in Scotland: Sir James CAMPBELL (Provost of Glasgow) (it appears I'm going to have to start that article)
GDL Memoirs and Portraits of One Hundred Glasgow Men entry 19 James Campbell
GDL Memoirs and Portraits of One Hundred Glasgow Men entry 20 brother William
Clan Campbell Society of North America Septs like MaCoran or MacCorran
Sir James bought an estate called Stracathro on the East coast of Scotland - near Brechin in what was Forfarshire, now Angus, Scotland.
He had at least 4 sons & 4 daughters
- one John who went to America. A brother William who also moved to Glasgow.
- son James who inherited his father's estate Stracathro
- Henry Campbell-Bannerman who was Prime Minister
- Sir James also had a brother, William.
-
I hope someone will have time to tidy these up later - otherwise I'll try and get back to do it sometime as time permits. GregCampbellUSA (talk) 06:51, 16 March 2010 (UTC) Greg Campbell USA
