This page contained a rumour which said Ashe was a proponent of equality and allowed all classes of people to have bath in Courtallam falls. In reality depressed classes were not allowed to bath in Courtallam falls even till 1934. Gandhi protested against this practice during his visit to Courtallam in 1934. (Reference book: GANDHIJI'S HARIJAN TOUR IN TAMIL NADU), There is no official record regarding Ashe fighting against this practice during his lifetime.
