- Comment this appears to be a dicdef, so deletion seems to be the way to go. You can add a PROD tag to this article. -- 67.70.35.44 (talk) 06:42, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
- This article is about Bavarian roast chicken, not other nations' varieties of roast chicken. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 11:06, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
Oppose/merge - roast chicken is dealt with currently at roasting Red Slash 01:02, 5 December 2014 (UTC)- Support as proposed. This is kind of a roundabout way of doing it, but okay, now with the rewrite, it's obvious. I agree that we should be an encyclopedia with an article on roast chikkin. Let's have it here. - Comment I think that this kind of issue should be best dealt with on a Hungarian wikiproject or similar. Has notification even been given in similar places? I think that there is more here than a dictionary definition. Gregkaye ✍♪ 12:02, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
- The threat of deletion spurred me to act and I added some add'l roast chicken info to the article just to mix things up. Please feel free to move or revert these additions if you feel the location or timing inappropriate. — AjaxSmack 03:24, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
- Support, particularly after AjaxSmack's bold changes. Per WP:WHAAOE, we ought to have an article on roast chicken, even as a WP:DABCONCEPT, and I find it quite surprising that we didn't. Now it's time to complete the process by renaming it. No such user (talk) 15:13, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Rotisserie
[edit]The article strongly implies that most roast chicken is cooked on a rotisserie. This is completely misleading - chickens roasted at home are almost always cooked in a standard roasting dish in a conventional domestic oven. Most homes don't posess a rotisserie, although mini ovens and air fryers with a rotisserie function are becoming more common. Roast chicken (conventionally cooked) is probably the most common family roast meal in the UK and North America, and possibly in many other places too. Ef80 (talk) 18:28, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
