Area 1 Road policing Unit removed

I've removed this sentence(see below) as it is unsourced and it appears the user who added it has done nothing but vandalize pages. Apologies if I was incorrect!

Irrelevant sentence

From the opening paragraph: "One of the first fatal accidents on the M1 occurred near Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire in December 1959."

What is the relevance of this sentence to the rest of the paragraph?
