Requested move 9 July 2020
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: No consensus, with no prejudice to another discussion to follow. For what it's worth, I would personally prefer something such as "Rizhsky line", which would be consistent with other article titles. Additionally, the move discussions for all the Moscow railway lines should ideally be grouped and treated as one. (non-admin closure) Sceptre (talk) 13:13, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
The existing title has multiple redundancies.
- "suburban railway line" can be shortened to "suburban line" (or alternately "suburban railway") without losing meaning, per WP:CONCISE.
- All references to Rizhsky at EN:WP are in or around Moscow, so the ", Moscow" suffix is unnecessarily WP:PRECISE.

- Pinging @Leutha: who moved a similar article a couple of weeks ago and prompted me to move all of them. Generally, I am not a fan of moving articles every two weeks.--Ymblanter (talk) 15:16, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Ymblanter: Not my fault they were moved without discussion to names that don't conform to WP:TITLE. AlgaeGraphix (talk) 20:48, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
- Actually, we had some discussion why the name conforms to WP:TITLE, this is why I am pinging.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:50, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
- Where? AlgaeGraphix (talk) 20:52, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
- At their talk page I believe.--Ymblanter (talk) 21:01, 9 July 2020 (UTC)

- A User talk page is not the correct place for a multi-page WP:RM discussion;
- You seem to accept, then ignore, Leutha's explanation that Xxx line is an acceptable name; and
- I don't see that WP:CONCISE, WP:PRECISE or WP:TITLE is referenced anywhere in the thread. AlgaeGraphix (talk) 21:42, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
- Ok, now it looks like you went into personal comments territory, explaining policies to users who may be expected to know them, for example, looking at the edit count or the time I have been around (and, in the end of the day, I created most articles related to Russian railways on Wikipedia). At his point I oppose the move. Railway is essential, because this is a railway line. There are also suburban bus lines in Moscow. Moscow is, in principle, no essential, however, if not retained, it will be a strong confusion with suburban railway traffic around Riga. Finally, if you want a correct place to discuss multiple nominations, you should also tag other articles about suburban railway lines around Moscow (there are eight more, and two more I will create shortly), and notify Wikipedia:WikiProject Trains.--Ymblanter (talk) 06:08, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
- Oh yes, and I have forgotten the most important thing. The move will not take us any closer to WP:COMMONNAME than we are now.--Ymblanter (talk) 06:35, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
