I am not sure that the claim "at its completion [it] was the highest lift lock in the world. ... with a lift of 26 feet (7.9 m)" is accurate. The Wiki article Boat lift lists at least 5 examples of lift locks that were completed before 1911 with a larger lift height. (e.g. Peterborough Lift Lock (lift of 65 ft (19.8 m)), Kirkfield Lift Lock (14.9 m)). While the statement is a direct quote from the listed source, it is possible that the Riverton Lock was in fact the highest lock in the USA (not the world), or the highest of some particular sub-type of of lift lock, or perhaps it was located at the highest elevation. This is primarily an issue for me because this apparently false statement is being used as a hook on the "Did you Know" section of the English Front page. 209.36.5.130 (talk) 21:53, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
