Constituent catchment boards of the Lancashire River Authority

I have a booklet commemorating the opening of the Altmouth Pumping Station scheme in Liverpool which was undertaken by the Mersey and Weaver River Authority in 1972 and it mentions that previous work on the Alt was undertaken by one of its predecessor organizations – the River Alt Catchment Board. Therefore the Alt CB could not have been one of the constituent bodies of the Lancashire River Board, instead it would have been transferred to the Mersey River Board. For this reason, I’ve moved the Alt from the former to the latter RB. The only sure way of determining this would be to read the text of the River Boards Act 1948 but this still hasn’t been uploaded onto the legislation.gov.uk website. Does anyone know where it could be located on-line?

Order defining the area of the Mersey River Board

The following public notice published in The London Gazette on 24th February 1950 shows that the catchment area of the River Alt was allocated to the area of the Mersey River Board upon the latter's creation:-

MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES AND MINISTRY OF HEALTH

RIVER BOARDS ACT, 1948

Mersey River Board Area

NOTICE is - hereby given that the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries and the Minister of Health, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them under subsection 1 (a) of section 1 of the River Boards Act, 1948, intend to make an Order defining an area which includes land draining to the River Alt and its tributaries and to the River Mersey, its tributaries and estuary and to the Manchester Ship Canal (excepting land in certain parts of the County of Chester and the County Boroughs of Birkenhead and Wallasey) and certain adjoining areas, as a river board area to be known as the Mersey River Board Area.

A copy of the draft Order has been deposited at the office of the Town Clerk of the Warrington County Borough Council, Town Hall, Warrington and also at the office of the (Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Someries House, St. Andrew's Place, Regent's Park, London, N.W.I, and will be available for public inspection until 30th March, 1950, during normal office hours. A map in two parts referred to in the draft Order, to a scale of one inch to a mile, on which the boundaries of -the proposed river board area are indicated, may also be inspected at the above mentioned addresses.

Copies of the draft Order and of the map to a smaller scale showing the boundaries of the proposed river board area may be obtained at the addresses mentioned above.

Any objections to the draft Order should be made in writing and sent by post addressed to the Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Someries House, St. Andrew's Place, Regent's Park, London, N.W.I, not later than 30th March, 1950, quoting reference number R.B. 163.
