Tawe Barrage

[edit]

Does anyone have any statistics about the barrage and its impounded lake ? Acreage, volume, turnover etc. ? Velela 10:00, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dumb question

[edit]

Just how is the name pronounced in English (I know how it is pronounced in Welsh). My guess is the answer is "same as in Welsh", i. e. more or less "tah-weh", but in some Russian texts (notably translations of Dylan Thomas) it is written as if it were an English word, e. g. more or less "tow". I need to know, as I am translating the Swansea article into Russian. Thanks! Edricson 16:15, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It rhymes with the English expression "Wow! Wee!" (Sloman 17:07, 6 November 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Cray reservoir

[edit]

Removed this:

In the headwaters of the river, Cray reservoir is used to supply potable water to north Swansea.

as although it is true that the reservoir supplies north Swansea (and the Tawe valley) it is not "in the headwaters of the river" but on the River Crai, which is a tributary of the Usk, and therefore in a different river catchment area. -- Picapica 19:22, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
