Fair use rationale for Image:Greater Manchester County Council Arms.png
[edit]Image:Greater Manchester County Council Arms.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Further Information
[edit]River Douglas on 'wiganman.co.uk' (local history site):
- River Douglas (part 1 of 4)
- Douglas Navigation (part 1 of 4)
I have now added content from the above links, but have only been able to record the references with each section, rather than produce cites (limited time). Some re-wording where required, but may still need re-phrasing to passive voice (depending on definition). Sawatts (talk) 17:58, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
- The site doesn't have a licence compatible with Wikipedia, and I assume that it is copyrighted as there is nothing to say that it isn't so I've removed the text from the article. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials and
Wikipedia:Requests for permissionsWikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for more information about copyright and permission. Peter E. James (talk) 20:04, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
- Opps! I'll review the source information and write something myself when I have some more time. Sawatts (talk) 08:38, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- As of 2015 the "WiganMan" site no longer exists. Sawatts (talk) 16:30, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
Proposed move
[edit]I propose renaming the article River Douglas (Lancashire) avoiding confusion with River Douglas, Isle of Man. A disambiguation page can then be created at River Douglas linking to the two articles. Philphos (talk) 14:16, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
