name

I am curious where the name comes from. Coemgenv (talk) 14:56, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The current explanation doesn't really explain why "Ritz" was chosen. "Inspired by a hat" says the page at present. I found this source on foodandwine.com saying Stern was "Inspired by the circular label inside his hat, he debuted a blue circle with a four letter word in yellow lettering: Ritz." http://www.foodandwine.com/snacks/how-ritz-cracker-got-its-name. Still doesn't explain why "Ritz" was used- unclear if Stern got the idea for the logo shape or name from the hat label, and if it was the name, how did he come about it from a hat? "Executives worried that “Ritz” would rub downtrodden consumers the wrong way but—as we know—it had the opposite effect."-- is this all a riff off the Ritz in Ritz-Carlton?69.247.24.98 (talk) 21:11, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ritz was chosen because it sounded similar to the cracker they were imitating, Educator's Boston-based Crax...71.162.113.226 (talk) 18:51, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Europe?

[edit]

Is the info in the "Europe" section only about varieties in Europe? I'm not sure that's the best heading. Joyous! Noise! 15:53, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
