Election history
[edit]I've had a look through the lists of candidates and she did not stand in the 1943 or 1946 elections. DNZB mentions that she stood in 1949 in Parnell. The government results list records surnames only and don't show party affiliation, and "Smith" isn't the rarest name. I reckon, though, that she stood in as many as threetwo electorates in 1949, the other two being Ponsonby (140 votes) and Island Bay (184 votes). Hugo999, you seem to have access to Norton's 1988 book of results; does that give further clues? Schwede66 20:20, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
- I see it was Ron Smith who stood in Island Bay on five occasions. Schwede66 20:57, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
