I have restored alot of the hanzi names of the actors and actresses for now. Either we need to make articles for them individually or leave them here. Otherwise the names cannot be found by the search engine. Every hanzi name has multiple romanizations. Benjwong (talk) 02:16, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't mean do it for all articles. Do it for this one and maybe a few other ones from RTV/ATV or stations with less coverage. This is a problem of chicken or the egg, which comes first. Before you create an article for an actress/actor the person has to be "notable". But they are not notable until you have put their names on at least a few shows first. Hope I am making sense. Basically it is a step to prevent deletion, and make it easier for the search engine. For example 潘志文 might be in wikipedia 5 times. But that might be under 5 different names, so that person does not seem notable. Benjwong (talk) 04:45, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
One question. If the article has a corresponding one on Chinese Wikipedia, why can't people just refer to the Chinese version for the Chinese names of the actors and actresses? I mean, if we're going to add the hanzi names on English Wikipedia, wouldn't that be a repetition of the Chinese version? Lonelydarksky (暗無天日)contact me (聯絡)03:33, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am not duplicating another wikipedia. I am trying to put up the scenario where someone's name has appeared enough times (in enough dramas/movies), so other editors can easily create an article for that person without deletion. Benjwong (talk) 04:53, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
