Reference made to Class 43 is an error in the source, which also gives the locmotive number, which indicates that the loco is actually a class 21. The image aslo shows a class 21, lacking the more bulbous from the the Class 43 Warship and having a much more cluttered side elevation. When the source image was taken in 1960 the Class 43 was brand new and all were allocated to the Western region, working top link passenger trains. Some Class 21s were allocated to Stratford, of which Ripple Lane is a sub-shed. Romfordian (talk) 20:15, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
