RGG manufacturing?

[edit]

When the article says "This lowers their manufacturing costs, and enables them to use the high-quality German game production values.", isn't this more or less code for, "they don't have any manufacturing costs, they use the German components"? Obviously I don't want to advocate any OR on this, but nor should we just repeat the company's own euphemisms uncritically, unless cleared sourced as such. Alai 19:00, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You think RGG is getting these games for free? Of course RGG pays its share of the manufacturing costs. (The reason this saves everyone money is that printing 4,000 copies of the same gameboard doesn't cost twice as much as printing 2000 copies.) I'm pretty sure RGG pays its share of whatever the artists and the game designers get paid, too. If what you mean is that RGG is basically just Jay Tummelson and he doesn't have his own printing presses and whatever, sure...but I'm pretty sure Alea and Hans im Glück were already contracting much of the actual manufacturing process out to printers and people in Germany and/or China anyway. Overhaul

[edit]

So I kind of overhauled the page, rewriting pretty much all of it. I'm a little worried that it sounds kind of like an ad for the company, but I do think it looks better than when I found it.Chunky Rice 17:42, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Imperial

[edit]

Does Imperial (board game) count as a Spiel de Jahres if it is just a recommended game? Captain Zyrain 22:57, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BoardGameGeek image thief

[edit]

The redesigned website for this company has stolen many images from BoardGameGeek, taken and uploaded by users of the site. They did not ask the original photographers - let alone BGG - for permission to do this. Should there be a section on this? -OldestManOnMySpace 11:04, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not unless a third party reliable source reports it somewhere. -Chunky Rice 11:36, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
